Watch Us Build a Preschool

Most preschool openings happen behind the curtain. Marketing photos arrive after the doors open. Parents tour a polished space and try to imagine what was built and how. We do not think that is the right way to ask families to trust us with their children.

So we are sharing the build honestly. Where we are, what is done, what is still ahead, what took longer than we hoped. The best way to see the space for yourself is our Open House on Saturday, August 15. Come walk through, meet Director Susanna, and ask anything before you decide between Greenpoint daycare options.

Where We Are Right Now

We are mid construction on the ground floor at 16 McGuinness Blvd S, the corner of McGuinness and Broome Street. Plumbing rough in is in progress. Walls are framed but not yet closed. The space is loud, dusty, and full of progress. We are aiming for completion in late summer 2026.

The Phases

Phase 1. Demolition and rough construction. Removing the previous fit out. Setting new walls. Plumbing and electrical rough in. This is where we are now.

Phase 2. Inspections and approvals. Department of Buildings, Department of Health, fire safety. Each step is a checkpoint that has to pass before the next one starts. This phase is mostly waiting.

Phase 3. Finish work. Drywall, paint, flooring, kid safe finishes throughout. Built in storage in each program room. Kitchen rough in for snack and meal prep.

Phase 4. Furniture and final readiness. Furnishings, learning materials, signage, outdoor stroller storage, accessibility checks. Final walkthrough with our Director Susanna Isakova.

Phase 5. Opening week. Fall 2026. Doors open for our first cohort.

How to Follow Along

The fastest way to follow along is to join our waitlist. Right now the space is mid-renovation. As rooms come together we will share photos, and waitlist families get a short weekly note on what changed plus the first invitations to our Open House on Saturday, August 15. No marketing. No upselling. Just the build.

What We Will Not Do

We will not photoshop progress. If a phase takes longer than planned, the email tells you that. If something has to be redone, we say so. We have seen too many preschool openings build hype on aspirational photos and arrive late. That is not how we want families to start their relationship with our program.
