About Us
Gifted and Talented Kids is a new preschool and daycare opening at 16 McGuinness Blvd S in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in January 2027. Forty seats across four age-based programs for children 2 to 6. Our curriculum is built around Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences framework and a practice we call Discover, Develop, Shine.
Our Education Director is Susanna Isakova. Fifteen-plus years in early childhood education. She leads teaching and curriculum. The role below sits next to her and carries the operations side.

Assistant Director, Childcare Operations
We are hiring one person now. You work directly with the owner to get the school ready: finding teacher candidates, voucher and subsidy paperwork, parent calls, enrollment records, and the paperwork the city asks for before a program opens. Our DOH permit application is in progress, so part of this job is knowing what stage we are at and saying it plainly to families.
What you will do:
- Find teacher and assistant candidates, check their experience, credentials, and references
- Set up interviews and help Susanna judge who is right for a room
- Handle childcare voucher and subsidy paperwork, and know which programs a family can use here
- Answer parent calls from October on, book visits, and keep enrollment records in order
- Sit with families and Susanna to talk through what each child needs
- Gather the facts and prepare draft forms and agreements for our lawyer to review
- Track DOH paperwork, staff clearances, and CPR renewals against the opening date
What you bring:
- Experience inside a licensed New York childcare program, with hiring, enrollment, or daily operations on your plate
- Working knowledge of NYC Health Code Article 47 and real practice with voucher and subsidy paperwork
- Straight talk with parents and a careful hand with records and deadlines
- Current pediatric CPR and first aid, or both completed before any work with children
- All required childcare background checks and clearance for our program before any work with children
- English fluent (Polish, Spanish, or Russian a plus, not required)
Pay
Salary depends on experience and we discuss it in the first call. Paid sick leave per NYC requirements. This is a full-time role at our Greenpoint site, not remote.
Future Teaching Roles
We are not interviewing teachers, assistants, or hourly specialists yet. The Assistant Director we hire will run that search with Susanna. Send your resume now if you want to be in that first round.
